Dr. Jonathan Cohen, Clinical Professor of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine, joined BioVentures MedTech as a Keystone Partner in 2024.

Dr. Cohen is a partner in Vanguard Gastroenterology, a private GI practice in New York, and has been included on the Castle and Connolly’s best doctor list since 2001. 

Dr. Cohen is currently the Treasurer of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and sits on the ASGE Foundation Board.   He has served as past chair of both the ASGE Quality and Training Committees and was President of the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (NYSGE) in 2004. Dr. Cohen has also directed the International Program for Endoscopic Teachers for the World Endoscopy Organization since 2013.       

Over the past 28 years, Dr. Cohen has written and lectured widely and served as faculty or course director for numerous endoscopy courses worldwide. He edited the textbooks “Comprehensive Atlas of High-Resolution Endoscopy and Narrowband Imaging,” “Successful Training in Endoscopy,” and “Endoscopy Past Present and Future: The NYSGE at 50.”  Dr. Cohen is also the Founder of MD Medical Navigators, LLC and Medical Director for MyAbroadMDs, LLC.  He has served as a consultant for numerous medical device companies and start-ups for the past 20 years.

Dr. Cohen graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Medical School and completed his residency at The Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, his fellowship in gastroenterology at UCLA in Los Angeles, and an advanced fellowship in interventional therapeutic endoscopy at The Wellesley Hospital in Toronto, Canada.
