"I'd call BioVentures Investors a 'user-friendly' venture capital firm. They understand technology development timelines and the issues related to medical devices."

Steven J. Tallarida
President Spirus Medical and Founder, AngioLink Corporation.

About Spirus Medical

Spirus Medical develops devices for the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. AngioLink, a maker of wound closure devices for vascular procedures was acquired by Medtronic in 2005.

Both firms were founded by Steven Tallarida and funded in part by BioVentures Investors. Tallarida notes, “We work with all the partners, but primarily with Marc Goldberg. He is very hands-on and we keep him appraised of day-to-day milestones in the company. With his focus on the financials we can focus on the technology, and that’s a real benefit. With his knowledge of medical devices and technology development timelines our communication is simple and straightforward, and again we can spend on time on what we do best – technology."

“I am a repeat user. For AngioLink the successfully exit strategy was a sale of the company to Medtronic Corporation.”
