Cylene Pharmaceuticals has a first-in-class ribosomal RNA biogenesis inhibitor that induces apoptotic cell death in tumor cells. The compound is in early Phase II clinical trials in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia and is in late Phase I trials in patients with solid tumors.
